Are you an internationally-educated healthcare professional seeking to transition into leadership, administration, data analytics, or other non-licensed roles in Canada’s evolving health sector?

Designed for internationally-educated healthcare professionals, this program aims to accelerate your access to meaningful, commensurate employment in healthcare data analytics and healthcare administration roles in Ontario. There are two streams:

Pathways to Careers in Healthcare Administration

Step into healthcare leadership with a Canadian lens. This 12-week program is designed for internationally educated professionals with clinical or administrative backgrounds, preparing you for roles in operations, project management, patient services, and administrative leadership roles within Ontario’s healthcare organizations.

Start Date: July 2025

Delivery Format: Hybrid (In-person in Toronto + Online)

Duration: 12 weeks | 180 hours total

You will learn:

  • Introduction to Canadian Healthcare system: Get grounded in the governance, structure, and regulatory environment of Ontario’s health system.

  • Healthcare Operations & Project Management: Learn core tools to manage timelines, teams, and resources in dynamic care settings.

  • Quality Improvement & Patient Safety: Understand how to evaluate performance, reduce error, and promote continuous care innovation.

  • Leadership, Strategy & Change Management: Build skills in stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and leading through change.

  • Healthcare Workplace Communications and Cultural Competency Training

Employment Focus:

Graduates will be equipped for careers such as:

  • Healthcare Administrator

  • Project Coordinator (Health Sector)

  • Quality Improvement Analyst

  • Patient Services Manager

  • Operations Assistant

Pathways to Careers in Healthcare Data Analytics

Build the skills to thrive in one of Canada’s fastest-growing fields, healthcare data analytics. This 12-week bridging program equips internationally educated healthcare professionals with technical tools, data systems knowledge, and employer-ready experience to succeed in analytics, decision support, and informatics roles.

Start Date: July 2025

Delivery Format: Hybrid (In-person in Toronto + Online)

Duration: 12 weeks | 180 hours total

You will learn:

  • Introduction to Canadian Healthcare system: Get grounded in the governance, structure, and regulatory environment of Ontario’s health system.

  • Healthcare Analytics & Strategic Decision Making: Learn to interpret, assess, and apply data to improve health system performance.

  • Health Informatics & System Insights: Understand how data flows through clinical, operational, and population health systems.

  • Risk and Quality Management: Explore methods for analyzing trends, identifying risks, and supporting patient safety.

  • Professional Communication: Build the confidence to present analytical findings to clinical and administrative stakeholders.

  • Healthcare Workplace Communications and Cultural Competency Training

Employment Focus:

Graduates will be equipped for careers such as:

  • Healthcare Data Analyst

  • Health Information Specialist

  • Decision Support Analyst

  • Data Quality Coordinator

 

All participants receive a micro-credentail from the Rotman School of Management a globally recognized institution known for leadership in business management, healthcare innovation, analytics, and executive education.

Additional Program Highlights

Program Eligibility

  • Be 18 years or older and a resident of Ontario.

  • Relevant post-secondary education and/or training in healthcare

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in healthcare field outside of Canada

  • Meet a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher

  • Hold one of the following statuses:

    • Permanent Resident or Naturalized Canadian Citizen

    • Provincial Nominee (excluding international student stream)

    • Refugee claimant or Emergency Travel visitor with an open work permit

    • Temporary foreign worker with Approval in Principle from IRCC

Program Fees

  • The fee for this program is $315 + HST. This fee offsets the training or academic portion of the program.

  • The Government of Ontario kindly funds all other costs related to the program and employment services.
